The Multi-Tiered System of Support

A Multi-tiered System of Support (MTSS) creates a structured approach that encompasses a team dedicated to educational support, along with instructional and behavioral strategies, as well as the necessary accommodations for students who require more help than what general education provides. This framework fosters productive collaboration among all adults involved, addressing each student's academic, behavioral, social, and emotional requirements. It offers a multi-layered system featuring high-quality, research-based instructional methods, interventions, and assessment practices that are customized to align with each student's strengths and needs. This model depends on the timely and effective utilization of meaningful data, aiding districts and schools in effectively organizing resources to enhance learning for all students. Furthermore, it promotes the collective expertise of educators, students, families, and community partnerships. Under the WSESU Multi-tiered System of Support, teachers meet weekly to analyze data, discuss supports needed in KidTalk or design a Student Success Plan for higher levels of intervention.
